Eight Months After Deadly Terrorist attack, Abuja – Kaduna Train Operations has Resumed Services. The train services were abruptly suspended on the 28th March, 2022 after, 9 people were killed and 168 other passengers were abducted by terrorist who attacked the train in Katari, Kaduna. Prior to the resumption of the train services, the Inspector – General Of Police Usman Alkali Baba had earlier deployed armed personnel drawn from the Police Mobile Force, K – 9, Force Intelligence Bureau, Explosives Ordinance Unit and Railway Police Command. The deployment covers major railway stations along the routes and operational coaches to provide adequate security for passengers and their property. CCC TV Cameras were also placed in strategic positions across the station and other operational areas. Before boarding the train from Idu kubwa, passengers were required to provide national identification numbers and phone numbers before the issuance of tickets and passengers without NIN were not issued tickets despite pleas. Majority of the coaches that should take 644 passengers were empty, few were with passengers, while others has no passengers at all.
