The Lagos State Government has declared Four work – free days to allow all the Public Servants who are yet to collect their Permanent Voters Card to do from INEC designated centers in their respective Local Government and Local Council Development Areas. This was contained in a Circular issued on Wednesday by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri – Okunola in which he said the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo – Olu has gracious approved the work – free day for Public Servants to collect their PVCs. He stated that the work – free day would commence from Tuesday, January 24, and end, on Friday, January 27, 2023, for different grade levels in the Public Service. The Head of Service in the circular disclosed that “Consequence upon the extension of the collection of Permanent Voters Card by the Independent National Electoral Commission, it is hereby notified for general information that all public servants who are yet to collect their PVCs from designated INEC Centers are encourage to do so before Sunday, January 29 2023, as it is civic responsibility for them to vote. The work – free days for different categories of public servants is as follows: Tuesday, January 24, 2023, is for Grade levels 01, 03, 07, and 15. On Wednesday, January 25, 2023 will be for Grade levels, 02, 04, 08 and 13 . Thursday, January 26, 2023 will be for those on Grade levels 05, 09, 12 and 17; and Friday, January 27, 2023 the last day will be the turn of those on Grade levels 06, 10, 14 and 16. Muri – Okunola then enjoined accounting officers to excuse their officers irrespective of their grade levels to go and collect their PVCs on designated days. ” Consequently accounting officers and all public servants are to ensure compliance whilst giving this circular the Service wide publicity it deserves ” He said.
