The Federal Government has approved Thursday 11th April, 2024 as additional public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid – El – Fitri.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed today by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Ashetu Gogo Ndayako
The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji – Ojo while congratulating the Muslim Ummah for a successful completion of a month of spiritual rejuvenation, reiterate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s firm commitment to providing a safe and Prosperous Nigeria for all to thrive .
Recalled that Federal Government had earlier declared Tuesday, 9th and Wednesday, 10th April 2024 as Public holiday for Eid celebration but as the Moon Crescent was sighted on Tuesday in Saudi – Arabia this meant that the celebration of Eid – El – Fitri will now take place on Wednesday, 10th April 2024, this now prompted the Federal Government to add an additional day to the already declared public holiday.
