A group of protesters, led by activist Comr Usman Okai Austin and other Kogi indigenes, stormed the EFCC office in Abuja, demanding the immediate arrest and prosecution of Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State. The protest was sparked by allegations of corruption leveled against Bello by the EFCC.
Austin called for swift action against Ododo, who allegedly obstructed the EFCC’s legal mission. He also highlighted that former local government chairmen who worked under Bello are willing to assist in the ongoing investigation.
In response, the EFCC’s acting director of public affairs, Mr. Wilson Wildera, assured the protesters of the commission’s commitment to bringing Bello to justice. He emphasized that the case against Bello is of public importance and will not be swept under the carpet.
