The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit, (TASKFORCE), has confiscated seventy vehicles from flagrant violation of the Lagos State traffic laws as amended.
The vehicles were impounded in a well coordinated operations carried out at targeted locations where reckless traffic violations by commercial transporters caused avoidable traffic congestion and public nuisance.
Chairman of Lagos State Taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele while warning motorists who formed the habit of engaging in traffic recklessness, maintained that the agency under his stewardship give violators of the environmental and traffic laws of the state any breathing space, adding that, only when citizens cooperate and obey relavants laws, will environmental sanity and security of the citizenry can be improved and preserved generally.
The exercise and enforcement was carried out at Okuta Road Junction in Bariga, Oba Akran road by Kodesoh Ikeja under bridge and Ladipo by Five Star, along Oshodi – Apapa Expressway. CSP Akerele further said the Agency will not tolerate or surrender to any indiscipline by any lawless motorists its patience.
