The Federal Government has declared Monday and Tuesday, December 26 and 27, 2022 as well as Monday, January 2, 2023 as Public Holidays to mark the Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year Celebrations. The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola made the announcement in a statement signed on Thursday by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore. Aregbesola in the statement wishes all Christians in particular happy christmas and all Nigerians prosperous New Year. He also felicitated with all Nigerians in diaspora on the occasion of the yuletide seasons. He enjoins all christians to emulate the virtue of Christ and follows his teachings as exemplified in him. Aregbesola reminded the people that 2023 was an election and political transition year, and they should make it successful by voting peaceful and avoid anything capable of undermining the exercise. The minister assured Nigerians that the Government has put in place effective measures for the security of lives and property and they should provide useful information to the security agencies to assist in the performance of their duties.
