Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed his Country’s defence minister to order a temporary cease – fire in Ukraine over the celebration of Orthodox Christmas. The cease – fire which is for 36 hours will start local time from noon Friday 6 till midnight Saturday 7, January 2023. Putin directives is in response to an earlier call by leader of the Russian Largest Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill for guns to be silent over the Orthodox holiday. The temporary cease – fire will allow many Orthodox Christians to celebrate and attend Christmas Services, due to fact that large number of the Orthodox faith live in several areas of the conflict zone.
