BREAKING NEWS: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos has declared the Incumbent Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu has the winner of the Governorship Election Election held on Saturday 18th of March 2023. The State Returning Officer Professor Adenike Ladiji who announced the final results at the State Collation Centre in Yaba said Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu, who won in 19 of the 20 Local Governments in the State polled a total votes of 762,134 to beat the Candidates of Labour Party Rhodes- Vivour Gbadebo who scored 312, 329, Olajide Adediran who also polled 62, 449 to come second and distant third. With this results Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu has been re – elected for a second term in office for another four years. In his Acceptance Speech Governor Sanwo – Olu thanks Almighty God, the people of Lagos State, The President – elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his Campaign Team. He called on the Candidates of both Labour Party and People Democratic Party to join him and work together to bring Lagos to a Greater Heights, and that everyone is a winners. Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu was first elected as Governor of Lagos in 2019.
