The draws for the group stage of the African Cup Of Nations Under- 20 in 2023 was held last friday night in Cairo, Egypt, which pitched Nigeria’s Flying – Eagles in the toughest group. In Group A tagged as the toughest group which will be played at the Cairo International Stadium sees seven time winners, the Flying – Eagles of Nigeria confronts four time winners and host, Egypt along with Mozambique and three time lossing finalists, Senegal. Uganda, Central African Republic, South – Sudan, and Congo will play against each other in Group B which will take place at the Suez Canal Stadium. At the Alexandra Stadium, Gambia will battles Tunisia, Benin Republic and Zambia in Group C The Egypt 2023 Under 20 African Cup Of Nations which is the 17th edition will commence from the 19th February to 11th March, 2023 will double as the African qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA Under – 20 World Cup to be hosted by Indonesia. At the end of the qualifications, the two teams in each group automatically qualifies for the quarter – finals, where they would be join by two best losers. The four semi – finalists automatically qualify for the 2023 FIFA World Cup that will take place in Indonesia. Ghana the defending champions having won their fourth title in 2021 will not take part to defend the title after they failed to qualified for the tournament. The twelve nation tournament will begin with a mouth watering opening game between host Egypt and Mozambique on Sunday 19th February, 2023, while Nigeria who missed out at the last edition battles Senegal in the same group A.
